Twice a year a town of 90 becomes the country's biggest antiques market — some 4,000 dealers spread across 60+ venues down a 15-mile stretch of Highway 237. Warrenton's fields are free and open-air; Marburger Farm is ticketed.

Royers Round Top Cafe

A 40-seat clapboard cafe on the square where the pie case is the main event — Texas Trash, Junkberry, buttermilk — behind grilled shrimp and fried chicken with no business being this good in a town this small. Run by the Royer family since 1987.

Before you go
Round Top largely runs Thursday through Sunday — arrive on a Monday and you'll find a beautiful ghost town. Early in the week, Mandito's in Round Top and Orsak's Cafe on the Fayetteville square stay open.
During the spring and fall antiques shows the town is at its most spectacular and its most crowded — six figures of visitors, hour-long restaurant waits without a reservation, and lodging booked months out. Worth planning around either way.
